What happens if I clear my browser data?

Clearing your browsing data (cache and site data) erases the books stored for BookPublish in that browser. Unless you backed a book up yourself, there is no copy anywhere else — we don't hold one to restore.

Three things survive, if you set them up:

  • Your purchases. License keys are tied to your account, not the browser. Sign in and they sync back — you won't pay again.
  • Any project files you downloaded. Re-open them with My Books → Open project file… to bring a whole book back, manuscript included.
  • Anything you backed up with the ☁ button, which lives in your account rather than in the browser. Sign in and it's listed in My Books.

So before clearing data — or on any schedule — download the project file for anything you care about. If a project already vanished, see My project disappeared.
