Free author utility

Right now, you’re copying a copyright page out of somebody else’s book.

Everyone does—and it’s why so many self-published books inherit a stray clause, a meaningless edition statement, or a permissions address that doesn’t exist.

Free. No account. Your book never leaves your browser.

Nobody teaches you this part

You wrote the book. You shouldn’t have to become an expert on page iv.

A copyright page looks simple until you need to decide what belongs on it: the right notice, a separate ISBN for each format, edition language, an imprint, credits, and a disclaimer appropriate to the kind of book you wrote.

Copying another publisher’s page mostly works—until it quietly claims something untrue about your book.

  • Copyright notice with the correct symbol, year, and holder.
  • Separate ISBN lines for paperback, hardcover, ebook, and audiobook.
  • Edition and printing information that reflects reality.
  • Fiction, memoir, nonfiction, or anthology disclaimer language.
  • Imprint, location, LCCN, and contributor credits when applicable.

A form, then the right pages

Complete front matter, assembled in the conventional order.

Copyright page

A properly structured notice, rights statement, ISBN block, edition line, disclaimer, imprint details, and credits—using only the information that applies to your book.

Opening pages

Half title, title page, copyright page, and an optional dedication, arranged in the order readers and publishing professionals expect.

Back matter too

Add a review request, acknowledgments, “Also by” list, author bio, website, and newsletter link after the story.

How it works

Two minutes from blank page to usable copy.

Tell us about the book

Enter the title, author, year, edition, imprint, ISBNs, and book type. Optional fields can stay blank.

Review the live pages

Watch the copyright and surrounding pages assemble as you type. Nothing is uploaded or stored remotely.

Copy or download

Move the formatted text into Word, Vellum, Atticus, or the software building your final interior.

Why it’s free

No email wall. No account. No “unlock the full version.”

This is a small problem that causes authors an unreasonable amount of anxious searching. Solving it well is useful—and we hope you remember the site when you need help with the cover, interior, mockups, or launch assets.

Copyright-page questions

Do I need to register my copyright for the notice to mean anything?

Your copyright generally exists when you create the work. Registration is a separate process with separate legal benefits; the copyright notice is still standard publishing practice.

What if I don’t have an ISBN yet?

Build the pages now and add the ISBN later. Each published format that uses an ISBN needs its own number.

Does this work for fiction, memoir, and nonfiction?

Yes. The generator adjusts the disclaimer language to the book type and offers an additional option for books containing professional advice.

Is this legal advice?

No. It creates conventionally formatted publishing pages. Books involving co-authors, estates, licensed material, quoted lyrics, or other complex rights questions should be reviewed by a qualified attorney.
