Terms of Sale & Use
Last updated 11 September 2026. Plain language on purpose — if anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.

1. Who you are dealing with
BookPublish.app is a service of Belladrey LLC, an Ohio limited liability company in the United States. You can reach us at [email protected]. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Belladrey LLC, and "you" means the person using the site.
2. What you are buying
BookPublish.app is free to use. You can build a cover, format an interior, generate mockups and marketing images, and export them as many times as you like without paying anything. Those free exports carry a watermark.
We sell three things. Current prices are shown on the site and at checkout.
- Complete Book — a license to export clean, watermark-free files from every tool, for one book: cover wraps for every printer and binding we support, the interior PDF and EPUB, a large print edition, the submission manuscript, mockups and the Social Pack, A+ images, and watermarked review copies.
- ARC Delivery — a service for one book: we email each of your reviewers their own copy and show you who downloaded it. See section 5.
- Concierge — a service: we make the book for you. See section 6.
About a Complete Book license:
- One book. A license is tied to a single book, identified by the book id shown on your checkout page. It does not cover your other books.
- No expiry. Licenses do not run out and are not a subscription. Re-export the same book as often as you want, for as long as the service exists.
- Every printer and binding. One license covers every printer and binding combination for that book — you are not charged again for a hardcover version.
- One large print edition. Make it from My Books while the book is unlocked. It is created as its own book with its own id, and its key is added for you automatically. One large print edition is included per book; if you delete it and need it again, email us.
- Not transferable. A license is for you and your book. You may not sell, share or reassign a license key to someone else.
- Earlier keys keep working. Before September 2026 we also sold licenses for single tools. Those keys still unlock what they were bought for.
3. Your work stays yours
We claim no ownership of anything you bring or make here — not your manuscript, not your artwork, not your cover, not your finished book. We do not use your work to promote ourselves, and we do not license it to anyone. The one exception is yours to give: on a Concierge proof page you can tick a box that lets us show your cover in our gallery. It starts unticked.
Files you export are yours to use commercially. Sell your book, print it, upload it to any retailer or printer you like. We take no royalty and ask for no credit.
Two things you remain responsible for:
- Anything you upload. Images, fonts and manuscripts you bring must be yours to use. If you upload a photograph you do not hold rights to, that is on you, not us.
- Fonts we supply. The typefaces built into the app are open-source licensed and may be used in commercial books, including embedded in your print and ebook files.
4. What we do and don't promise
We work hard to match the current specifications published by Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Lulu and Barnes & Noble Press, and we test against their own templates.
We cannot guarantee a printer will accept a given file. Printers change their specifications, their tolerances and their automated checks without notice, and each has its own review process we have no control over. This is exactly why every tool lets you export a watermarked preview, free and as often as you like, before you buy — please actually look at it.
The service is provided as is. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost sales, delayed launches or printing costs. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us for the book in question.
Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
5. ARC Delivery
ARC Delivery emails review copies to people you nominate. When you use it:
- You confirm that each recipient has agreed to receive a review copy from you. Do not use it for unsolicited bulk email.
- Emails come from BookPublish, sent on your behalf. They name you as the author, and replies go to the reply-to address you give us.
- Up to 25 reviewers per campaign.
- The files and the recipient list are deleted 30 days after the campaign is created. The download links and download tracking stop then too.
- If you tick the box to send a copy to the BookPublish shelf, one extra copy comes to us. That box starts unticked.
6. Concierge
Concierge is a service: we make your book for you from the manuscript you send, with the same tools that are on this site. The order page lists exactly what is included.
- How long it takes. Proofs arrive in 1–7 business days, depending on how complex your book is, counted from when your manuscript passes our formatter check. The finished kit follows within a few business days of your approval. Business days are Monday to Friday, not counting US public holidays. These are our normal times, not guarantees.
- One revision. One round of changes is included after delivery. Ask for everything in a single request, while your kit is still available. A different cover concept after you have approved one is a new order.
- Your kit. Download it and keep it. It stays available for 30 days after your first download — or 60 days after delivery if you never download it — and then we delete it, along with the manuscript and art you sent us. We also put the finished project in your My Books, where it is hosted for 90 days from delivery or from your last edit, whichever is later. Your license for the book never expires.
- AI tools. We use AI tools to help draft copy and cover ideas. Cover art we make for you is AI-generated, and we say so because some retailers, KDP among them, ask you to disclose it. If you ask us to upscale art you sent for a Concierge order, that is done with AI too: it can change fine detail, and your image is sent to the image service, whose own terms let it use what it receives to develop its AI. (The Cover Maker's own Upscale button is not that — it enlarges the picture in your browser and uploads nothing.) Our Privacy Policy names the services and says what each one receives.
- What you confirm. That you hold the rights to the manuscript and any art you send us, and that you are free to publish them.
7. Fair use of the service
Do not use BookPublish.app to produce unlawful material, to infringe someone else's copyright or trademark, or to attack the service itself. We may suspend access for clear abuse.
8. All sales are final
We do not give refunds — for any product or service, for any reason. You agree to this in the payment form before you pay, and your agreement is recorded with the payment.
The tools are free to try first. Every tool works in full without paying: build your cover, format your interior, make your mockups, and export watermarked previews as many times as you like. Check them — with your printer's own file previewer, if it has one — before you buy. What you pay for is what you have already seen, without the watermark.
Concierge is a service, not a tool, so there is nothing to try before you buy: we start work on your book once you have paid. You steer the result along the way — you see proofs and approve a cover before we build, and one revision is included after delivery. Those are how you get the book you want; a refund is not.
- If a file is broken because of a mistake on our side — an export that will not open, a tool that does not do what these terms say — email us and we will fix it. Fixing it is the remedy; it is not a refund.
- You cannot pay twice for the same thing. If a book is already unlocked, checkout says so and will not take a second payment. Your key is in your license email, and in My Books when you sign in with the email you paid with.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version. Changes are not retroactive: a license you have already bought keeps the terms it was bought under.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
11. Contact
[email protected] — a real person reads it. See also our Privacy Policy.
