KDP says text is outside the safe area. What does that mean?

Printers can't cut exactly to the line, so there's a safe area — an inner margin where text is guaranteed not to be trimmed. KDP's warning means some text is too close to an edge, the spine folds, or the barcode zone, where a slightly-off cut could clip it.

To fix it:

• Pull text inward. Move your title, author name, and back-cover text away from the edges, inside the safe-area guides the Cover Maker shows.
• Mind the spine. On a thin book, spine text can spill toward the folds — see Why is my spine too narrow for text?
• Keep the barcode area clear of other text.
