Which disclaimer should I choose?

The disclaimer should fit what kind of book you wrote, and the generator selects the right one based on the book type you pick:

  • Fiction — the classic "This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents are products of the author's imagination…" protecting you from "that character is me" claims.
  • Memoir / nonfiction narrative — language noting the story reflects the author's recollection of events, that some names/details may be changed.
  • Nonfiction — an accuracy note that the information is provided in good faith.

If your book gives professional advice, there's an additional disclaimer you should add — see What if my book contains legal, medical, or financial advice?
