Adding, removing and reordering modules

Choosing a pack — Standalone Novel, Series, Nonfiction — gives you a sensible set of modules to start from. It is only a starting point.

The controls

Every module card has three buttons in its top right corner:

• ▲ and ▼ move it up or down.
• ✕ removes it.

Below the last card, a picker offers every module Amazon supports, including ones no pack uses. Pick one and press Add module.

The checkbox beside a module's name switches it off without deleting it, which is useful for trying a shorter version of your section without losing the wording you wrote.

Order matters twice

The order on this page is the order the READ ME tells you to build the modules in on Amazon, and it is the order a reader scrolls through them. Reordering renumbers both the instructions and the image filenames in your download, so they always agree.

How many

Amazon does not publish a hard limit, but around five modules is what one A+ project reliably takes. The tool counts the ones you have switched on and warns you past that. If you have more to say than fits, a second A+ project is allowed.

Standard Text

Worth knowing about: Standard Text is a module with no picture at all. It costs you nothing in images and it is the simplest way to add a content note, a short letter to the reader, or a series reading order. It appears in your READ ME with its wording, and produces no image file.
