What is the difference between the PDF and EPUB downloads?
Two different products for two different purposes, both built from your one manuscript:
- PDF — the print interior. A fixed layout at your exact trim size, with set page breaks, margins, and page numbers. This is what you upload to KDP or IngramSpark for the printed book.
- EPUB — the ebook. A reflowable file: text rearranges to fit whatever screen and font size the reader chooses. This is what you upload for the Kindle/ebook edition.
Because an EPUB reflows, it deliberately has no fixed pages — which is why it looks different on different devices (that's correct). See Why does my EPUB look different on different devices? and How do I test the EPUB?
